Luncheon at the Clay Haus, Restaurant, Somerset, Ohio. The Perry
County Historical Society joins the Rufus Putnam Chapter, Ohio
Society, Sons of the American Revolution to celebrate George
Washington’s Birthday. Keynote Speaker, Mr. Mike Kline, Ohio

Ancestry.
The Perry County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will be with
us to give you research tips to help you find your ancestors, learn some
genealogical resources, learn more about the genealogical society and
ask questions. FREE to the public. |

April 17, 1:00 p.m. "Life & Times"
of Mariah Storts Allen, Ohio’s Last surviving DAR "Real
Daughter" of the American Revolution. Guest Speaker Keith Kaufman,
Mariah’s Great Grandson. |

April 24, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Perry County Historical Society welcomes
author William F. Drake to Somerset for a book signing on
the Village Square. In the event of inclement weather the book signing will take place in the courthouse. Mr. Drake’s book is about the life and times of General Philip H. Sheridan entitled,
Little Phil, The Story Of General Philip Henry Sheridan. In this book the author has tried to show not only the history, but also the little things in the General’s life that have been ignored by other writings. Anyone interested in Civil War or Perry County history will not want to miss this event. |

May 21, 1:00 p.m. Join us as Master Gardeners share tips on gardening and landscaping.
Each person in attendance will receive a free plant. Refreshments will be served. |

July 16, 2:00 p.m. PAL-WOW Join us and several other Patriotic and Historical organization at the
First Annual S.A.R. – D.A.R. – C.A.R.~ PAL WOW held at the Dawes Arboretum shelter house. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. meeting begins at 2:00 p.m. Cost $2 per adult under 18 free. Attendees are encouraged to wear period attire.

October 29, 10:30 a.m. Rededication of the Sheridan Monument. Join the Perry County Historical Society and the Village of Somerset as they rededicate the 100 year-old heroic bronze equestrian statue of Civil War General Philip H. Sheridan on the village square.

The Rufus Putnam Chapter, Ohio Society - Sons of the American Revolution, will host a
Genealogy Workshop at the John McIntyre Library - 220 North Fifth Street, Zanesville, Ohio. Meeting Room B. Mrs. Barbara Griffith, State Registrar of the Ohio Society - Daughters of the American Revolution, will present
"Doing Your Geneology: Without Getting A Migraine"
Those interested in learning how to do their Genealogy, and learning ways to find / document their Ancestors, would be Welcome to Attend! This program is FREE to the Public. But, limited to the first 60 persons who make reservations.

-- Cookie Walk. The Perry County
Historical Society will hold their
annual Cookie Walk
at the society's
house, located at 105 South Columbus Street, in Somerset, Ohio. There
will be a large assortment of homemade cookies and candies to choose
from. Visitors will be able to enjoy a cup of punch while relaxing and
visiting with friends in the parlor.
The Historical
Society gift shop will also be open with a large variety of pottery,
baskets and other
last minute gift ideas.
